It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Heinz Kurz GmbH founder, Mr Heinz Kurz, who passed away on Sunday, August 25th at the age of 91.
Everyone who met Heinz Kurz remembers his contagious passion for everything that he undertook. Born in 1927 in Walddorf, close to Stuttgart, he was the youngest of five children and always enjoyed nature, especially walking in the forests. This did not change even when he founded his first dental laboratory in 1957 in Dusslingen, which became one of the largest labs in Baden-Württemberg to this day.
As a Swabian inventor with a clear vision and great entrepreneurial spirit, Heinz Kurz began early on to transfer his knowledge and skills from the dental technician profession to the field of ENT. This led to the development of KURZ Medizintechnik which he founded in 1993. Proof of his outstanding work in developing innovative ENT products was the medal of merit he received from the German Society of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Head and Neck Surgery – and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany which he was honored with in 1997.
Heinz Kurz was an inspiring company leader, boss and friend and a highly respected and valued member of the international ENT world. The effects of his loss are already being felt by those of us who had the honor and pleasure of working with him.
